Rain brings drought relief to North Texas

The rain has brought some much needed relief to North Texas.  Dallas/Fort Worth is the first metropolitan area in Texas to escape from one of the worst droughts in state history.

The dry weather brought lakes to dangerously low levels, and caused wildfires resulting in billions of dollars in damage.  Just three months ago, 65% of the state was in the exceptional drought stage.  That number is just below 30% now.

More rain is expected to fall Friday evening into Saturday morning.
