Washington, D.C.—Rep. Brian Baird met with U.S. and Iraqi officials and checked in on troops from Washington state over Memorial Day weekend.
Baird, a Democrat from Vancouver, was joined by Democratic Rep. Lincoln David of Tennessee during Sunday's visit.
Baird and Davis attended a commanding general's battle assessment update before meeting with medical personnel at a U.S. combat support hospital, where they discussed combat mental health issues.
They later met with soldiers of the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, where they spoke with troops from Tennessee and Washington.
