Local law enforcement participate in active shooter training
YUMA — Members of the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office, Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations and others participated in a three-day, multi-agency Active Shooter training in Yuma earlier this week.
The course included classroom instruction along with physically intensive, hands-on training scenarios utilizing non-lethal training ammunition.
The training focused on familiarizing different agencies to work together if an emergency situation happens at a school, business or workplace.
It also helped various law enforcement agencies coordinate their response protocol and terminology to be used in radio communication and also notification procedures in an emergency.
