EL CENTRO — A male was arrested after allegedly hitting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute reported near the 200 block of Maple Avenue on Wednesday evening.

Bryan Lewis was arrested for spousal battery, said police Cmdr. Jeff Mason.

The severity of the female’s injuries weren’t available but according to El Centro police call logs, Lewis supposedly hit his girlfriend with his hand sometime around 6 p.m.

Police were notified by the victim’s daughter, who reported Lewis also pushed her mother and was “hitting things,” according to the logs.

Lewis was booked into county jail that same evening.



Possession of forged documents alleged



A 45-year-old female was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with possession of forged documents, a police commander said.

Mariana Garza was arrested near the 400 block of West Commercial Avenue when a warrant was served, Mason confirmed.

Background about the case that generated the warrant wasn’t available, but Mason did note this is the first time Garza has been arrested for this crime.

Garza was booked into county jail around 1 p.m. but no other information was available. 



Threats made through fake Facebook account

IMPERIAL — Unspecified threats were made through an allegedly fake Facebook account that used a minor’s name, a parent reported to police Tuesday.

Little information about the incident was listed in the logs, but what is known is that the mother reported that someone used her daughter’s name to create a Facebook account and make threats.

No further information was listed in the logs.

Man arrested for alleged elder abuse with weapon

PALO VERDE — A man was arrested earlier this week for alleged elder abuse and assault with a deadly weapon after an incident in Palo Verde.

Deputies responded to a call that a battery case had occurred in a residence in the 100 block of Sunset Way in Palo Verde, said Sgt. Clint Erro with the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office. After conducting an investigation, deputies arrested Ronald James Smith, 50, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon against a relative and booked him into Imperial County jail with a $50,000 bail. More details were not released as the case has been submitted to the District Attorney’s Office.

 

Man arrested for alleged attempted murder

A Palo Verde man was arrested last week for alleged attempted murder after a domestic violence call in the north county community.

Craig Francis Pike, 52, was arrested and booked into Imperial County jail on $500,000 bail for alleged attempted murder after Imperial County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted an investigation March 7, Erro said. Deputies responded to the domestic violence call in the 100 block of Clark Way in Palo Verde, and after investigating the case, and because of the extent of the injuries to the victim, the deputies arrested Pike on suspicion of attempted murder. The extent of the injuries could not be released.

The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.
