CALEXICO: Cop cars involved in collision
A Calexico police car rear-ended another police car around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 111 near the Highway 98 intersection, according to an official from the Calexico Police Department.
“It was in the No. 1 lane when the collision occurred,” said Sgt. Marquez. “One was in stop-and-go traffic. The other approached without due caution and collided.”
Both cars were towed, Marquez said, and the officers involved are expected to be back at work in about two weeks to a month.
“They are recuperating from aches and pain,” Marquez added.
