Acting Calexico Unified School District Superintendent Richard Fragale and Associated Calexico Teachers President Enrique Cervantes announced they have come to a tentative agreement for this year’s and next year’s master school calendar.
The room applauded the announcement made during Tuesday evening’s district meeting.
By having the master calendars already in place, it makes it easier for district employees and students’ families to plan personal and professional lives farther in advance, Cervantes said.
The calendars still need to be approved by the board and ratified by the association. Cervantes and Fragale said they anticipated that to happen.
Software purchases OK’d
The Calexico school board authorized two purchases during Tuesday evening’s meeting. A piggyback purchase with Waterford Unified School District was approved for a school bus from A-Z Bus Sales for $174,133.90. The bus is for Calexico’s special education program.
A purchase of transportation software system Routefinder Pro for $14,132 was also approved. The software purchase is aimed at increasing transportation efficiency for the district.
