Joshua L. Stitley of Hancock and Roy L. Wisotzkey of Hagerstown are charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, armed robbery and malicious assault, according to court documents. Both cases are assigned to Magistrate JoAnn Overington, according to court records.
Stitley is Vickie E. Clem’s son, according to police,
Wisotzkey and Stitley allegedly went to the Clems’ house at 81 Vinca Lane with a sword and a baseball bat with the intention of robbing the house, according to police.
Stitley’s stepfather, Jack Clem, was stabbed during an argument, police have said. His wife’s cause of death was being investigated, but appeared to involve trauma to the head, police have said.
Jack Clem, who was stabbed in the groin and struck in the head, was treated at Inova Fairfax Hospital and later released, police said Friday.
Police said they began investigating the case Friday morning when a woman notified authorities that a naked male was yelling for help in her front yard.
Court documents indicate the crimes happened Thursday night or Friday morning.
