Two Hit By Car In Waterbury

Two people were hit by a car that went out of control and jumped a curb on West Main Street Friday morning, police said.

The victims, a 41-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, were taken to hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said. The car's driver fled.

Police were called to West Main Street near Leavenworth Street about 8 a.m. after learning the pedestrians had been hit.

The car, a Jaguar, went over the curb and hit the two people on the sidewalk, police said.

The investigations was still underway on Friday.
