Tim Tebow and Tom Brady worried about Aaron Hernandez's behavior as early as 2011, with Hernandez being described as "a lot to handle," a newly surfaced video shows.

Brady: “And I’m trying to watch over Aaron and Brandon.” Tebow: “I appreciate that, too, man. They’re good guys.” Brady: “[Yeah] they’re a lot to handle.”

Tebow and Brady are shown talking about Hernandez -- as well as former Florida Gator Brandon Spikes -- in the long-forgotten video from NFL Films.

“...I’m trying to watch over Aaron and Brandon,” Brady tells Tebow.

“I appreciate that, too, man. They’re good guys,” Tebow responds.

“[Yeah] they’re a lot to handle,” Brady says.

The video is from Dec. 18, 2011, in Denver -- Week 15 of the NFL season, when Brady's New England Patriots defeated the Tebow-led Denver Broncos 41-23. The NFL Films video includes game highlights as well as Tebow and Brady shaking hands after the game and talking briefly about Hernandez.

The video shows that the two quarterbacks are very friendly, and it's  apparent they have had contact with each other off the field. And some of that contact has been to talk about Hernandez and Spikes, a linebacker for the Patriots.

Other tidbits from the video. It opens with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell embracing Tebow on the Broncos' sideline, encouraging the QB and asking about former Gators coach Urban Meyer. "He's looking forward to running Ohio State," Tebow says. Tebow, of course, answers most of the commissioner's questions with a very polite "yes, sir."

After some highlights of the game, the video then switches to Tebow and Brady meeting at midfield for their post-game handshake. The sound quality is amazingly clear as Brady encourages Tebow before the conversation turns to Hernandez and Spikes.

Brady: “Good game, Tim. You’re having a great year.” Tebow: “Thanks. I appreciate it.” Brady: “Keep it up. Good things happen to good people.

“Good game, Tim. You’re having a great year,” Brady says.

“Thanks. I appreciate it,” Tebow says.

“Keep it up. Good things happen to good people," Brady says

“I appreciate that,” Tebow responds.

At least for now, the two QBs are together on the Patriots roster. But Hernandez, charged with murder, is not on the team for the two good-guy QBs to try to keep an eye on.

The Patriots defeated Tebow’s Broncos by a score of 41-23 in that Week 15 matchup. Afterward, the two “star” quarterbacks spent a few moments chatting about the game and even talking about two of Tebow’s teammates at the University of Florida in Hernandez and linebacker Brandon Spikes. In the encounter, Brady and Tebow exchange some pleasantries before briefly chatting about the two Patriots players, as can be seen in this NFL.com video of the postgame handshake. Check out a transcript of the exchange below. Brady: “Good game, Tim. You’re having a great year.” Tebow: “Thanks. I appreciate it.” Brady: “Keep it up. Good things happen to good people. Tebow: “I appreciate that.” Brady: “And I’m trying to watch over Aaron and Brandon.” Tebow: “I appreciate that, too, man. They’re good guys.” Brady: “[Yeah] they’re a lot to handle.” So, aside from Tebow’s clear “appreciation” for just about anything and everything Brady says, it’s interesting to hear Brady not only mention that he was watching over Hernandez but also noting that he and Spikes were a handful. That’s not to say they were necessarily difficult to handle or even a problem, but the comment does seem to carry much more weight now given Hernandez’s murder charge.

Tom Brady probably hasn’t talked to new teammate Tim Tebow about Aaron Hernandez much yet, but the two did discuss the former Patriots tight end after a game in Denver in 2011. Oh, and a hat tip to Masshole Sports for scrounging up the video.
