A 55-year-old East Hampton man was killed in a two-car crash on Route 85 Wednesday morning, state police said.
Richard Banning was driving south at about 5:45 a.m. when he crossed into the northbound lane and crashed into another vehicle, state police said. He was taken to William W. Backus Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital with chest pain.
State police said on Wednesday that the crash was still under investigation.
