Joan Joyce (born August 18, 1940)
Joyce is a native of Waterbury, who played competitive basketball and volleyball and qualified for the Ladies Professional Golf Association tour in 1977. But the sport in which she made her largest mark was softball, leading several teams to national championships. She has been the softball coach at Florida Atlantic University since 1994, as stated by the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame.
