A new online tool allows you to plan your trip on the Hartford Line, the commuter rail service between New Haven, Hartford and Springfield that will begin in May.
A complete schedule and more information is available at www.hartfordline.com.
The schedule shows at least 16 trains stopping in Hartford each weekday, adding seven new CTrail trains to the existing Amtrak trains that stop at Union Station.
The earliest train from Hartford to New Haven arrives in Hartford at 6:31 a.m. and will be in New Haven at 7:20 a.m., according to the schedule.
In the other direction, the first train from New Haven leaves at 4:55 a.m. and arrives in Hartford at 5:39 a.m. The next train to Hartford leaves at 7:20 a.m. and arrives at 8:06 a.m.
Eventually, the daily schedule will expand to 25 round trips, and stations in Enfield, North Haven, West Hartford and Newington will be added.
There is also weekend service, though it is less frequent.
Proposed fares were released in October. State officials said at the time that a one-way trip between Hartford and New Haven would cost $8, but it's possible those fares could increase as the state looks to boost funding to its special transportation fund.
