Sen. Richard Blumenthal will join a bipartisan group traveling to Puerto Rico Saturday to witness first-hand the damage Hurricane Maria delivered to the island and how relief efforts are progressing.
Blumenthal’s office said he will be joined by Democratic senators Tim Kaine of Virginia and Kristen Gillibrand of New York and Republicans Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Cory Gardner of Colorado.

Connecticut’s congressional delegation has been critical of the administration’s response to Puerto Rico, saying money and personnel did not reach the area quickly enough.
