Margaret S. Dana, 90, of Farmington passed away at her home on August 20th, 2018. Peg, as she was known by friends and family, was born on June 14th, 1928 (Flag Day) in Waterbury to Frances and Cecelia (Kerrigan) Shea. Peg was very active throughout her life, Skiing, Golfing, Sailing and Hiking. She was a longtime member of the Springfield Ski Club and the Niantic Bay Yacht Clubs. She was also a very avid and accomplished card player, especially Bridge. She also volunteered for many years with the Women's Auxiliary of The Salvation Army, serving for many years on the board as their President and Treasurer. She also served on the board of the Tunxis village Condo Assoc. and the West Hartford Belles and Hartford Junior Women's Club. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in West Hartford and began working at Conn. General Ins Co. After raising 3 children. Peg went back to school and graduated from UCONN. She then went back to Conn Gen/Signa, where she worked until retirement. Peg was predeceased by her son Keith Martin. She is survived by her daughter Karen Martin of Hartford, and son Ken Martin of Wallingford, her three grandchildren Sean, Chris and Kimmi Martin, and great grandchildren Ronny and Kaleb. She was also predeceased by her brother Richard Miller. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Burns and her sister-in-law Mary Miller and nieces and nephews. There will be a funeral service at St. Patrick's Church at 110 Main St in Farmington, CT on Thursday, Sept 6th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
