Comcast has opened a new Xfinity store on Washington Street in Middletown where customers can shop for new services and products and maintain their accounts.
The store opened earlier this month at 814 Washington St., next to Petco. It is the sixth Xfinity store in Connecticut.
“The opening of the new Xfinity store is a great addition to Middletown. Comcast is an important provider of jobs in our region and this store will allow businesses and consumers to interact with the latest technology that drives innovation forward,” Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce President Larry McHugh said in a statement.
Customers can try out Xfinity products, handle account issues and exchange and upgrade equipment. The store is open every day.
The opening of the store included a $1,000 donation to the Middlesex United Way.
United Way President Kevin Wilhelm said the donation is a show of support for the local community. He said Comcast and the United Way are national partners, and frequently partner on charity initiatives.
“We actually do a lot together, whether it’s donating money or coordinating volunteers,” Wilhelm said. “It’s important and wonderful to have locally based businesses and global businesses all supporting our work in education, income, health and housing.”
Comcast said the Middletown Xfinity store is the first in the state to offer new retail features for customers like charging stations and the Xfinity Home wall where security and home-automation features can be explored.
