Hillary Clinton To Headline Yale's Commencement Weekend

Hillary Clinton will return to her alma mater May 20 as Yale University’s Class Day speaker, headlining the school’s commencement weekend.

Clinton, a former Secretary of State and first lady who was narrowly defeated by President Donald Trump in the 2016 election, will return to the school where she received her juris doctor in 1973. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, also graduated from Yale Law School in 1973.

Clinton’s planned appearance is in keeping with Yale’s history of inviting statesmen and stateswomen to speak to the graduating class. Former United Nations Ambassador Samantha Power was featured in 2016, as was former Vice President Joe Biden in 2015 and former Secretary of State John Kerry in 2014.

Clinton will speak on May 20 at 2 p.m. on Old Campus.
