Nail salon employees weilded a pair of cuticle scissors and a pen during a fight at their shop on Tuesday, police say.
New London police were called to Lucky Nails Salon on Jefferson Avenue at about noon for an active fight and stabbing, they said in a news release. When they arrived, the salon employees had separated and one person was bleeding from the face.
The incident began with a business disagreement, but escalated when one person allegedly tried to stab another with the pair of scissors. When the victim disarmed them, the attacker grabbed a ball point pet and stabbed the victim in the face, police said.
Officers charged Van Ni Nguyen, 20, of Canterbury Turnpike, Norwich, with second-degree assault and breach of peace. She is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
The victim was treated and released from Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.
