Two Shootings In New Haven In 24 Hours

NEW HAVEN — A teenager was shot late Thursday night and a man was shot Friday evening, police reported.

Both victims are expected to recover and police say detectives are looking for suspects. Investigators have turned up surveillance videos in both cases, police said.

A 16-year-old from the city was shot in the leg around 11:50 p.m. Thursday at 199 Franklin St., police said. The victim was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Several cars around the Farnam Courts public housing complex were hit by gunfire in the incident, police said. the

On Friday at about 6 p.m., a 35-year-old New Haven man was shot in the groin. The shooting happened on Hazel Street near Sherman Avenue, police said. An ambulance took the man to Yale-New Haven Hospital; he was treated and on Saturday evening was released. Police are searching for a black 2014 Nissan Maxima that may be connected to the shooting.
