New Britain Seeks Community Volunteers

The city is inviting interested residents to serve on municipal boards and commissions.

"It takes a team of dedicated volunteers to keep our city moving forward," Mayor Erin Stewart said in a statement.

"There are a variety of boards and commissions for a multitude of professional backgrounds," she said. "Our community is only as strong as those who are willing to step up and be a part of our success." 

Volunteers are needed to serve on the commission on aging, the ethics commisison, the ordinance board of appeals, the parks and recreation commission, the city plan commission, the board of health, the commission on community and neighorhood development, the zoning board of appeals and the commission on persons with disabilities.

Applicants must live in New Britain, be 18 or older and be registered to vote. To apply, send a letter of interest to Paul Amarone at Paul.Amarone@newbritainct.gov or Paul Amarone, c/o Mayor’s Office, City Hall, 27 W. Main St., New Britain 06051.
