An officer was dragged by a suspect during a traffic stop-turned car chase on Friday afternoon, police said.
Officers ultimately arrested Pedro Maldonado, 33, of Summer Street, Bristol at about 4 p.m., according to police. He was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit, assault on police and no tint inspection.
Maldonado was pulled over on Long Street but took off shortly after, allegedly dragging one officer. That officer and a second suffered injuries described as not life-threatening during the incident, in which police pursued Maldonado through New Britain and onto Route 72, where state and Plainville police helped stop him.
Maldonado, who was on parole at the time, is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in New Britain on Monday.
