Police used a Taser on a teenager who allegedly caused a disturbance at the Northern Middlesex County YMCA on Sunday.
Officers called to the Union Street center at about 10:40 a.m. learned that Milla Polumbo had been yelling and cursing as parents with young children were walking into the YMCA.
They found her and her boyfriend outside and when they asked Polumbo about her conduct, she began yelling and cursing at the officers as more parents and young children walked by, police said.
Police tried to place Polumbo under arrest, but she began to resist and kicked one of the officers, who brought her to the ground. Polumbo reportedly continued to resist, kick and try to bite the officer.
The second officer used his Taser to drive-stun Polumbo for three to five seconds and then placed her in handcuffs.
Polumbo was charged with interfering with an officer, assault of a public safety officer and breach of peace, and held on a $50,000 bail.
She is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Meriden on March 29.
