Ed Chandler of Glastonbury grew up with pencils, kneaded erasers and sketch pads for toys and the smell of turpentine. Both his parents were artists and he modeled for his mother. His parents died many years ago, but he only recently returned to his artistic roots. The image on the cover is his first oil painting and is from a photograph he took last summer at a Cub Scout camping trip at Gay City and is titled "Clearing." "It was a gift for my friends, the parents of my godson, who is the second child from the left in the painting," he says.
