Craig Elliott threw two passing touchdowns, including the game-tying score in the fourth quarter, to help Wethersfield to a 14-13 win over Bristol Eastern in a CCC Division II West game from Alumni Field at Bristol Eastern. Eastern (2-6) scored first on a Justin Marshall pass to Jaden Laprise but couldn't convert the extra point. The two would connect again to give Eastern a 13-7 lead into the half. Elliott connected with Ryan Skelly on both his TD passes, including an 11-yard score in the fourth that tied the game for Wethersfield (3-5), which took the lead on Michael Messina's extra point.
East Hartford 28, New Britain 7: Raquan Tompkins totaled 257 yards and two touchdowns to lead East Hartford over New Britain in a CCC Division I cross-over game at East Hartford High. Tompkins was 7-for-12 for 144 yards and a TD and added 113 yards and a TD on 11 carries. Kevon Jones carried the ball 10 times for 97 yards and a touchdown, caught four passes for 77 yards and a TD and registered nine tackles for East Hartford (7-1). New Britian falls to 3-5.
Southington 45, Enfield 8: Will Barmore threw two touchdowns and ran for another to help Southington defeat Enfield in a CCC interdivision game at Southington High. Second-quarter touchdown runs by Ryan Montalvo and Tanner LaRosa put Southington (7-1) on the board and a TD pass to Jimmy Ringrose and a field goal by Evan Johanns widened the Southington gap to 24-0 at halftime. Xavier Copening had a 62-yard interception return for Enfield (1-7).
Middletown 23, Hudson Catholic (N.J.) 12: Xzavier Reyes paced the offense with 178 rushing yards as Middletown shut out Hudson Catholic (N.J.) in the second half to seal a nonconference win in Jersey City. Tyreece Lumpkin's second-quarter TD run was enough for Middletown (8-0) to take a 13-12 halftime lead, before Reyes scored in the third. Middletown's Mike Aresco kicked three field goals, tying the state record for career field goals with 21.
Conard 21, Glastonbury 12: Jack Moore passed for a touchdown and ran for another to help Conard beat Glastonbury in a CCC interdivision game at Glastonbury High. Glastonbury (3-5) had a 12-8 lead at the end of the half thanks to a touchdown pass from Freddy Thomas to Carson Mascheck and a TD run by Drew Daniels. A rushing touchdown by Paul Wilson put Conard (5-3) ahead 14-12 in the third before Moore's rushing score sealed the win.
Rocky Hill 42, Avon 0: Joe Catania ran for three touchdowns to spark Rocky Hill to victory over Avon in a CCC interdivision game at Rocky Hill High. Catania finished with nine carries for 79 yards. Also for Rocky Hill (8-0), Matt Osgood had five catches for 105 yards, including TD receptions in the first, second and third quarters. With the loss, Avon fell to 3-5.
Stafford/East Windsor/Somers 6, Ellington 2: Colton Engel's third-quarter touchdown pass to Julien Revis was all the Stafford co-op needed to beat Ellington in a Pequot Uncas game at Stafford High. Engel was 8-for-16 for 109 yards and led with 26 rushes for 110 yards. John Kopek led the defense for Stafford (7-1) with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery. Ellington falls to 3-5.
Haddam-Killingworth 35, Lewis Mills 13: Dalton Modehn rushed for two touchdowns to help Haddam-Killingworth top Lewis Mills in a Pequot Sassacus game at Haddam-Killingworth High. Modehn finished with 15 carries for 192 yards. Jack Frith added two touchdowns for H-K (5-3) with a first-quarter TD run and a second-quarter fumble recovery. Lewis Mills falls to 1-7.
Valley Regional/Old Lyme 28, Rockville 6: Mike Cullina tossed three touchdowns and added a fourth on the ground to help give Valley Regional/Old Lyme a Pequot interdivision win over Rockville from Valley Regional High. Cullina connected with Ryan Santos for two of his touchdowns and Jaylen Arnum for his third and rushed for a 13-yard TD to open the scoring in the first quarter. Clayton Aafedt rushed for the only touchdown for Rockville (0-8).
Sheehan 62, Bassick 8: Jordan Davis had two rushing touchdowns as Sheehan exploded for a 41-point first quarter in an SCC Tier 3 win over Bassick from Riccitelli Field at Sheehan High. Quarterback Wes Terzi threw touchdown passes to Evan Mansfield and Braedon McCarthy in the first quarter. Nathan Zona added seven rushes for 94 yards and two TDs for Sheehan (7-1).
