High School Football Ratings: Windsor Rises To No. 2 In State After Week Of Upsets

To say Week 8 of the high school football season was a wild one would be an understatement. Both the state and area ratings received a shake-up, thanks to a number of upsets.

East Hartford's shocking fourth-quarter comeback at Southington dropped the Blue Knights to 10th in the state and vaulted to Hornets to fifth in the area. The loss raises the stakes for Southington when it heads to South Windsor (which handed East Hartford its only loss) in two weeks.

The Bobcats suffered their own setback when they were toppled from the unbeaten ranks by Jack Moore and Conard in a 33-28 road loss. They dropped to tenth in the area rankings.

Southington wasn't the only movement in the state ratings. Shelton went into West Haven for a top-10 battle and came out with a strong 38-28 win, jumping the Gaels into second in the Class LL rankings and third in the state ratings, while West Haven drops to seventh.
