September is National Senior Center Month, and the Glastonbury Senior Center marked the occasion with a celebratory luncheon, as well as a full schedule of events, classes, trips, and activities.
On Sept. 14, a special barbecue chicken luncheon took place, along with entertainment by musician/singer Jeff Wieselberg.
September was also a busy time, with many new classes, including the Aging Mastery Program, Landscape Painting, Line Dancing, and Zumba Gold. Additional days were added for indoor walking, which takes place four days a week after lunch.
Also featured in September were a monthly book and author discussion group, Computer, iPad, and smartphone assistance, and a trip to the UConn Dairy Bar.
Planned for October is a Lunch and Learn talk on the Connecticut Civilian Conservation Corp Camps on Oct. 5, a talk on oral health on Oct. 10, and a presentation about the Glastonbury Planetarium, by Planetarium Coordinator Jason Archer, on Oct. 11.
Also coming up is a trip to Pumpkintown Village, in East Hampton, on Oct. 18, a new paint night with Pamela Jordan, on Oct. 26, and a Halloween Luncheon, on Oct. 31.
