1. Dillon Stadium
One of the key players in Hartford's Dillon Stadium scandal pleaded guilty Monday. Mitchell Anderson pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering and has agreed to repay the $1 million he took from the project. Federal sentencing guidelines call for a prison term of 30 to 37 months.
2. Missing Jersey
So Tom Brady is a Super Bowl champ. Again. But what happened to his game jersey? That's a mystery that's consumed TB12, and he told the Associated Press that he believes someone stole it. Now, the search has involved the Texas Rangers.
As the Senate moves toward a confirmation vote on Education Secretary Betsy DeVos Tuesday morning, Democrats are holding the floor in protest. Sen. Patty Murray said they will be on the floor for 24 hours straight to prevent her confirmation from the post. Sen. Chris Murphy made his debut at 4 a.m.
4. Education Funding
Speaking at a school in New Britain, Gov. Malloy reaffirmed his commitment to changing the way public schools in the state are funded. Without delving into too much detail, Malloy said he wants to shift some funding from wealthy district to poorer communities.
5. Ignoring Attacks?
Of course not. Donald Trump claimed on Monday that the media has ignored terrorist attacks in Europe. A Washington Post fact check revealed those claims to be unsupported by evidence.
