Fairfield Gas Station, Frank Pepe Pizzeria Burglarized

A man burglarized two different businesses in the town just minutes apart early Wednesday morning, according to police.

Officers called to the first alarm just before 2 a.m., at Star Towing and gas station, 350 Jennings Road, found the glass in the front door shattered. A review of surveillance video showed a man hiding between parked cars on the property at about 1:50 a.m., a news release said.

The man walked up to the front door, threw an unknown item at the glass and pulled the door open. He apparently stole the metal cash drawer from the register before leaving down Jennings Road toward Longfellow Avenue.

The second alarm sounded at about 2:20 a.m., at Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, 238 Commerce Drive. Officers found the lock cylinder of the front door missing and the cash drawer on the floor.

Officers believe the same man robbed both businesses. They searched the area with police dogs but did not find the man.
