ENFIELD — The National Weather Service has confirmed that a third tornado touched down in the state on Monday, this one in Enfield.
The tornado came from the same storm as the twister that hit the Windsor Locks area on Monday afternoon, the NWS said on Friday.
At about 1:45 p.m., the tornado touched town on Glen Arden Lane in Enfield, then crossed Hazard Avenue and continued northeast to Heron Road. It ended at Taylor Road after traveling 3/4 of a mile, the weather service said.
A short time earlier, a tornado touched down near Hayden Station Road in Windsor and moved 2.25 miles across Windsor Locks and into East Windsor. That tornado tore apart an inflatable sports dome in East Windsor and ripped tobacco netting from fields and draped it across houses and I-91.
The weather service also confirmed a tornado in Greenwich and Stamford earlier on Monday..Copyright © 2015, CT Now
