EAST WINDSOR — A man was in critical condition late Saturday after a shooting at an apartment complex.

According to police, officers responded to the Mill Pond Apartments after receiving several 911 calls at 2:47 p.m. Officers found a man bleeding in an apartment on the second floor of the H building. The 21-year-old man was transported to Hartford Hospital and police said he was listed in critical condition late Saturday. Police did not identify the man.

"The initial motive for the incident appears to have been a robbery," police said in a statement. "The victim and suspect are believed to have known each other. This does not appear to be random cat and none of the involved parties are known to reside in the complex."

East Windsor Police and the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information should contact the department's detective bureau at 860-292-8240.

In June 2013, 22-year-old Zachary McArthur of Enfield was killed during a shooting in an apartment at the complex. Police also believe that was not a random act of violence.
