Pack 109 Tigers Earn Awards
COLCHESTER — Cub Scout 109 held its December pack meeting at the Westchester Congregational Church in Colchester. In addition to a carnival organized by the Bear Den, awards were given to hard-working scouts.

Jazz & Wine
SOUTH WINDSOR — Quintessential, a student-organized and directed jazz combo of five from the Hebron RHAM High School, for Friday Night at The Wood: Jazz & Wine, taking place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Wood Memorial Library, 783 Main St. The snowdate is Saturday, Jan. 28.
Quintessential gives their own flair to the jazz classics of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins and other greats. The talented band members from local towns include Garrett Masotti on piano, Olivia Knightly on bass, Jacob Ouellette on drums, Aaron Ouellette on trumpet, and Paul Tamburro on trombone.
Cassidy Hill Vineyard, a local Coventry winery, will provide a sampling of their well-rated wines for tasting. Light refreshments will be served.This event is for adults only. Pre-registration is required. The fee for this event is $15 per person or $25 per couple, payable in advance to Wood. Payment can be made by cash, check, Visa or MC.

D-Day History Program
EAST HAMPTON — The East Hampton Public Library will host historian Kelvin W. Cole for a free, comprehensive two part program about D-Day, Invasion of Normandy.
This two part series began Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 6:30 p.m. Cole discussed the prelude to D-Day, describing the fall of Western Europe to the Nazis and the construction of their defenses and the Atlantic Wall in their bid to keep it.
Part two of this series will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18. Cole will discuss the "Perfect Storm" of events that descended upon the Nazi's "Fortress Europe," the Allied victory and the collapse of the Nazi's and German surrender 11 months later.

Gentle Yoga Classes
EAST HAMPTON — The Middlesex YMCA and the East Hampton Senior Center are offering a Gentle Yoga Class. This will be an eight week course every Monday at 1:45 p.m. Perfect for all levels and is a great way to relax from head to toe. The class includes sitting and standing yoga moves that are directed by a Certified YMCA Instructor. Classes are $5 per class or $40 for the 8 week session. Meals On Wheels Volunteers
EAST HAMPTON — East Hampton Senior Center and Community Renewal Team are in need of volunteers to deliver meals. At 11:30 a.m. the meals are delivered to the senior center at 105 Main St. and are then disbursed to the volunteers who will then deliver them to Homebound Seniors within town.
