Two Charged In Bristol Scrap Metal Theft

BRISTOL — Police have charged two local men with stealing scrap metal from a construction company on Burlington Avenue.

Police said they got a call at 1:49 a.m. Monday reporting the theft of items from Mastrobattisto Construction at 145 Burlington Ave. The caller gave police the description of a pickup truck involved in the incident.

Responding officers stopped a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup nearby at Grove and Oakland streets and found scrap metal they said had been taken from Mastrobattisto in the truck's bed.

Pawel Lotkowski, 24, of Pardee Street, and Anthony J. Romano, 24, of Maple Street, both in Bristol, were charged with third-degree larceny, third-degree criminal trespass and conspiracy. Both were released without having to post bail and are due in court Aug. 25 in Bristol.
