Western Student Struck By Car Will Survive, University Says

A transfer student struck by a car at Western Connecticut State University Tuesday is expected to survive, the university said.

The collision was reported at 6:30 p.m. on White Street, the university said. The student was taken to Danbury Hospital.

The driver stopped and waited for police, who continue to investigate. Police have video of the collision, the university said.

Tuesday was the first day of classes.
