Danbury Man Charged In Stratford Home Invasion

An armed Danbury man who entered the home of his ex-girlfriend in an attempt to rob her and her new boyfriend on Wednesday morning was arrested, police said.

Jeffrey Bispo, 19, faces nine charges, including home invasion, second-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

Police said they responded to the River Bend Road home at about 9 a.m. Bispo fled with an unidentified accomplice after a neighbor intervened and freed the ex-girlfriend, police said.

The victim told police Bispo was armed with a handgun and had used it to strike her in the head and face, police said. Danbury officers were alerted and arrested Bispo, police said.

He was held in lieu of $250,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Bridgeport on Thursday.
