Police: Suspected Triggerman In Stratford Bar Shooting Arrested

Police have made a second arrest in a Nov. 14 robbery during which a bartender was shot.

Jachim Brown, 30, of Bridgeport was arrested Thursday at Superior Court in Bridgeport, police said. The warrant charges him with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, first-degree threatening and three gun charges.

Police believe Brown pulled the trigger, Capt. Frank Eannotti said. Brown’s weapons charges are criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, criminal possession of ammunition and carrying a firearm without a permit.

The man police believe was the getaway driver, Eric Chambers, was arrested earlier this week, police said. He was charged with first-degree robbery.

Brown’s bail was set at $500,000, police said.

Chambers remains in custody at the Bridgeport Correctional Center on $250,000 bail, state records show.

According to police, the shooting happened Nov. 14 at BAR on Main Street in Stratford Center. A man came into the bar, who police say was Brown, approached the bartender and demanded money.

Although the bartender complied, the man shot him once in the abdomen, police said at the time. His condition wasn’t clear early Thursday afternoon.
