A West Hartford dentist who police said drove into a parked police vehicle in South Windsor over the weekend faces a drunken driving charge.
Dr. Jagdeep Sibia, 32, of Front Street in Hartford was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane, police said. She was released on $500 bail and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Manchester Dec. 18.
The crash happened early Saturday when officers were at the scene of a minor collision on Route 5, near Chapel Road. No one was in the patrol vehicle at the time and no one was injured, police said.
The police SUV’s flashing lights were on, Deputy Police Chief Scott Custer said.
A picture of the damaged police vehicle shows that the back of the police SUV was smashed in on the driver’s side.
Cindy Seguro, office manager at West Hartford Family Dentistry, confirmed that Sibia is a dentist at the practice.
Sibia did not return a call for comment Monday.
