A New London man was charged with murder in connection to a late October fatal stabbing, police said.
Metese Hinds, 46, was arrested by warrant during an appearance at Superior Court in New London on Wednesday. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
Hinds is accused of fatally stabbing 33-year-old Raheeim General, whose last known address was on Truman Street, on Oct. 24.
Police said they were called to 49 Black Hall St. by a caller who reported a disturbance on the second floor and two people may have been stabbed. When officers arrived, they found General and Hinds, police said.
In a previous news release, police said Hinds had been wounded in the stabbing but treated at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. Hinds was released into police custody and was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of a protective order, which police said was not related to the fatal stabbing.
