Crashes on two Hartford-area highways caused delays during the morning commute Tuesday.
Police were at the scenes of a multi-car crash on I-84 east, a two-car crash in I-91 north in Windsor and a one-car crash on I-91 north in Rocky Hill, according to the state Department of Transportation. The extent of injuries wasn’t clear.
The I-84 crash was between exits 48 and 49, the DOT said. One lane was open at 7:45 a.m., but the highway was congested all the way back to Exit 40. The stalled traffic stretched about five miles.
Only the shoulder was closed in Rocky Hill, but the transportation agency warned drivers to watch for lane closures.
