Glastonbury Police Charge Grandmother With Risk Of Injury

A Glastonbury grandmother is accused of shoving her daughter and almost dropping her sleeping 5-year-old grandson while being intoxicated, police said Monday.

Kelly Curran, 50, of Griswold Street, was charged with disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a child. She was held in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Police said Curran arrived home shortly after 2 a.m. Friday and pushed and shoved her daughter. While arguing with her daughter, Curran went into a room where her five-year-old grandson was sleeping and scooped him up, almost dropping him, and “as a result was holding him up by his neck,” police said.

Curran was arrested without incident.

According to court records, Curran’s next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 19 at Superior Court in Manchester.
