Police have arrested a man who they said repeatedly exposed himself on a beach last month.
William J. Connelly, 61, of Newtown turned himself in Tuesday for arrest on three counts of public indecency, three counts of breach of peace and one count of risk of injury to a minor, police said.
He posted $10,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Bridgeport Nov. 7, they said.
According to police, he exposed himself in three separate incidents at Jennings Beach Sept. 5 and Sept. 23. At least one of the victims was below 16 years old.
In an attempt to identify the man, police released edited pictures of Connelly sitting in a beach chair in the sand. The media published and broadcast the pictures, which apparently were taken by beachgoers, and officers received tips about who the man was, police said.
Police said they learned that Connelly has been involved in similar incidents in other towns.
