An East Hampton man who had a marijuana-growing operation in his house was arrested on Tuesday, police said.
Michael Philhower, 28, of 8 Lakeview St. was charged with operating a drug factory, sale of illegal drugs, possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell. He also was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released on a promise to appear in Superior Court in Middletown on Nov. 21, they said.
According to police, officers searched his house about 5 p.m. Tuesday and found about 40 potted marijuana plants at various stages of maturity. They also found a pound of processed marijuana, smaller amounts of narcotics and other controlled substances for which he lacked prescriptions.
Police said they also found equipment used in the cultivation of marijuana, including watering systems, grow lamps, growing tents and drying equipment.
