Hit-And-Run Sparks Search For Nissan, Bloomfield Police Say

Police are looking for a dark Nissan with front-end damage after a hit-and-run collision that injured a man early Tuesday.

It happened about 6:15 a.m. in the area of 1415 Blue Hills Ave., in front of HomeGoods Distribution Center, Capt. Stephen Hajdasz said. The 49-year-old pedestrian from South Windsor had just gotten off a CT Transit bus on the north side of the road and was crossing the street when he was struck.

He was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center to be treated for possible leg fractures and back injuries, Hajdasz said.

The dark-colored car that hit him continued driving south on Blue Hills Avenue, or Route 187, without stopping, he said.

Anyone who saw the collision or knows anything about the car is asked to call Bloomfield police at 860-242-5501.
