Bomb Threat Sparked Evacuation At Bloomfield Manufacturer, Police Said

A Bloomfield engine brake manufacturer was evacuated early Monday because of a bomb threat, police said.

Someone called Jacobs Vehicles Systems, 22 East Dudley Town Road, about 6:45 a.m. and said bombs would be going off in the building within the hour, Capt. Stephen Hajdasz said. The company called police, and the building was evacuated.

The Hartford police bomb squad, Bloomfield firefighters and area medics were called to the scene as a precaution, he said.

Police searched the building with an employee for anything that looked out of place and found nothing, Hajdasz said late Monday morning.
