Even a temporary warmup this weekend can’t seem to keep this winter’s snowy weather at bay.
While the Hartford area is forecast to see a high of 48 degrees on Saturday — 13 degrees higher than normal for late January — meteorologists are predicting temperatures to drop again by Monday.
There’s potential for northern Connecticut to see up to 2 inches of light, fluffy snow overnight into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Boston.
Clinton, New London and Norwich could also see 1 to 2 inches, while the weather service is predicting less than an inch to fall in southwestern Connecticut.
Hartford has seen 23 inches of snow this season as of Jan. 25, up from the average total snowfall of 19.3 inches by this point in the season and 17.8 inches this time last year, according to the weather service.
