UAW COMPLAINS ABOUT GENERAL MOTORS IMPORTS
DETROIT - The United Auto Workers claims General Motors plans to import cars to sell while taking money from the American taxpayer to survive.
Leaders at GM have not responded.
VETERANS JOB FAIR OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
GRAND RAPIDS - It's being called West Michigan's largest job far, and it is being held today.
Despite its name, the West Michigan Veterans Job Fair is open to anyone. For the fourth year, it will be held at the Grand Valley Armory, 1200 44th Street SW in Wyoming today from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
Major employers are expected to be represented, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ameri-core, Comcast, Consumers Energy, D-K Security, Fed-Ex, and Foremost Insurance.
It is recommended taht job seekers download a pre-registration form to avoid long lines. Last year, more than 100 employers met with more than 1,700 people.
"CRIB FULL OF BLUES" EVENT MOVES
GRAND RAPIDS - An annual fund-raiser for In The Image will be found at a new location tonight.
The seventh annual "Crib Full of Blues" starts at 7 p.m. at McFadden's on Ionia Avenue SW in downtown Grand Rapids. Previously, the gathering was at the BOB.
Admission is $30 at the door.
