Gilda's LaughFest announced Tuesday morning that Sinbad will join the lineup for this years comedy fest.
Sinbad is ranked by Comedy Central as one of the top 100 stand-up comedians of all time.
LaughFest announced earlier this month the talent and shows for the second year of the festival.
Earlier this month, LaughFest announced Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Short, Kevin Nealon, Mike Epps, Rodney Carrington and Jim Gaffigan would take part in the second year.
The second LaughFest will be held March 8-18, 2012.
Other acts announced include rising comedic stars Anthony Jeselnik, Anjelah Johnson and Bo Burnham in addition to veteran Marc Maron, whose voice has been a fixture in the comedy scene for years.
"We're excited to have this level of talent and variety of shows featured in 2012. We want to showcase laughter in all of its forms so that everyone in the Midwest will have a reason to come to Grand Rapids during March,” said Leann Arkema, president and CEO, Gilda's Club Grand Rapids.
LaughFest will continue to feature stand-up comedy, improv, music, dance, speakers, pets, children's shows, and a variety of other comedy to give everyone the opportunity to laugh together.
The three goals of LaughFest is to focus on laughter as part of good emotional health, support local econmy, and a support program for children and adults living with cancer
LaughFest will include 200 free and ticketed shows that feature 60 artists at 40-plus venues in Grand Rapids during the 10 days of the festival. More than 25 organizations have already signed up to participate officially in LaughFest; many also participated in 2011. Ticketed shows will range in price from $7 to $77.50 and festival ticket packages will be available to the public beginning November 18, 2011 at 9 a.m. online or by phone at (616) 735-HAHA (4242).
Gilda’s LaughFest was created by a team at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids in 2011.
