Researchers at Yale University say they’ve made a discovery that will dramatically impact autism research.
Dr. Stephan Sanders- the first author of the study- says scientists found genetic mutations are linked to the condition. This finding will help researchers pinpoint which genes are responsible for autism.
“For the first time, we have a route forward, an understanding of how to do autism research and find the true biological cause of autism,” said Dr. Sanders.
If enough are found, and compared- they can understand what causes it. With time- a treatment could develop.
