Portillo's delivered to your hotel room? It's here, with Hyatt-GrubHub deal

Hyatt and GrubHub said Tuesday they have expanded a partnership that allows a hand-picked collection of restaurants to deliver room service to visitors at Hyatt Centric hotels, Hyatt's brand geared toward younger travelers.

The partnership offers Hyatt Centric hotel guests the option of ordering from about a dozen restaurants through GrubHub and having the food delivered directly to their rooms — either by a delivery driver or a hotel employee.

The program was first tested last year at three Hyatt Centric hotels, in Long Beach, Calif., Park City, Utah, and Miami. Starting this month, it has expanded to six additional hotels in San Francisco; Arlington, Va.; The Woodlands, Texas; New York City; and Chicago. The Hyatt Centric in Chicago is in the Gold Coast neighborhood, just off the Magnificent Mile.

The restaurants at each location are selected by hotel staff so travelers can try food unique to the area without leaving their rooms, according to Sandra Cordova Micek, senior vice president of global brands at Hyatt. In Chicago, available restaurants range from Portillo's and Broken English Taco Pub to Carson's and RPM Italian.

The GrubHub delivery service is advertised on key card sleeves and in hotel information books in each room.

The partnership is part of Hyatt Centric's "Restaurant To Go" program, which also offers a 24-hour Express Menu featuring food that can be delivered in 20 minutes.
