John Lederer has been named president, chief executive and a board member of U.S. Foodservice, the Chicago areas largest privately held company. Lederer joins U.S. Foodservice from Duane Reade, a New York-based drugstore chain recently acquired by Walgreen Co., where he is chairman and CEO. Lederer also was president of Loblaw Companies Ltd., Canada's largest supermarket chain, fom 2001 to 2006. He spent 30 years at the company.
