Thomas Granatir has been named senior vice president for strategic partnerships, health policy and governmental affairs at the American Board of Medical Specialties, which oversees the certification of physician specialists in the U.S. Granatir will be responsible for developing policy and relationships to improve quality in the public and private sectors. Among his health-care related positions, Granatir has worked for the American Hospital Association, the Health Research and Educational Trust and The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and recently for Humana in the U.S. and United Kingdom. Granatir received an M.A. in health policy and evaluation and B.A. in philosophy and literature from the University of Chicago.
