The annual event is making a big splash for cancer research, prevention and treatment. Swimmers at any level are invited to participate. Swim Across America holds numerous swimming events throughout the United States each year. This is the sixth anniversary of the Greenwich–Stamford Swim, that has generated $1 million in donations over the years specifically for the local beneficiary, the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT). ACGT is headquartered on the Greenwich/Stamford border and serves as the start and finish line for the Swim. There will be four options for swimmers: a half-mile course, a 1.5 mile course, a 3-mile or 5-mile challenge.

Womanologie, your place to celebrate being a woman. Join us for interesting speakers, unique vendors, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and friends. The Macaroni Kid sites in Western CT will be hosting a fun, special evening of Womanologie, The Art and Style of Being a Woman, in the newly renovated Garden Room at Capellaro’s Grove located in Bethel. A portion of the proceeds will benefit EverWonder Children’s Museum, a museum for children to be located in Newtown. The evening is all about having fun with friends and celebrating being a woman. There will be special guest speakers including Personal Stylist, Allison McConnell, of Analogue Chic. The evening will also consist of raffle items and a silent auction with an “African Photo Safari.”

The spring edition will feature a juried ensemble of over 25 international galleries. The collection will include a bevy of unique paintings, functional art & design and haute jewelry.

The Norwalk Parking Authority presents another Art in Parking Places with The Senses of SoNo at the Maritime Garage Gallery. Senses of SoNo features works of all media from selected artists themed on a variation of the traditional five senses. An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, May 16 from 5-7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The Gallery is a collaboration between the Norwalk Parking Authority and the Norwalk Arts Commission in an effort to support art in public spaces.
